VMC Wacky Weedless Jig Head

The VMC Wacky Weedless Jig Head combines the natural action of a wacky-rigged soft plastic with a weighted, weed-resistant design built for fishing around cover.

Developed with input from tournament angler Mike “Ike” Iaconelli, the jig features a balanced head, extra-wide gap and a light-wire stainless-steel weed guard. The result is a finesse presentation that can be pitched into grass, vegetation and other bass-holding cover where a conventional exposed wacky hook is more likely to snag.

Balanced Wacky Jig Head

The weighted head changes the presentation of a traditional wacky rig by giving the bait a more controlled fall while maintaining the distinctive movement of a wacky-rigged worm.

VMC balances the head specifically to help produce the erratic action associated with this style of finesse fishing.

Stainless-Steel Weed Guard

A light-wire stainless-steel weed guard helps protect the hook point when the jig is worked through vegetation and cover.

The guard is designed to reduce snagging without unnecessarily interfering with the hookset, making this a useful option when you want to take a wacky presentation into areas that would be difficult to fish with a completely exposed hook.

3° Offset Point

VMC offsets the hook point by 3 degrees to improve hooking performance.

Combined with the extra-wide gap, this provides plenty of room for a wacky-rigged soft plastic while helping expose the hook point when a bass eats the bait.

The extra-wide gap allows the Wacky Weedless Jig to accommodate a variety of wacky-rigged soft plastics.

We'd particularly use it around hydrilla edges, submerged vegetation, docks and other cover where you want the action of a wacky-rigged worm but need additional snag protection.

The different weights also let you adjust the presentation: lighter weights for a slower fall and shallower water, and heavier weights when you need to get the bait down faster or fish deeper.

This also complements the standard VMC Wacky Hook nicely—the standard hook is the simpler unweighted finesse option, while this gives anglers a weighted, weedless alternative for fishing closer to cover.
