The Rainy's Steeves' Loco Mouse Fly is an exciting topwater pattern designed to imitate one of the most irresistible meals available to predatory fish—a struggling mouse. Featuring a realistic profile, buoyant construction, and fish-triggering surface action, the Loco Mouse creates explosive strikes from bass, peacock bass, and other aggressive freshwater predators.
Designed by fly-fishing innovator Steevee Munn, this highly effective pattern produces a distinctive waking and swimming action across the surface that mimics a rodent attempting to cross the water. The realistic movement and prominent silhouette often trigger violent reaction strikes from fish willing to travel significant distances for a substantial meal.
Built with Rainy's legendary foam fly construction, the Loco Mouse offers excellent buoyancy, durability, and visibility while maintaining a natural presentation. Its lightweight design casts surprisingly well for a large-profile fly and remains effective around shoreline cover, docks, lily pads, timber, canals, and other structure where predator fish ambush prey.
Whether you're targeting largemouth bass in freshwater lakes, peacock bass in South Florida canals, or other opportunistic predators, the Steeves' Loco Mouse delivers some of the most exciting topwater action fly fishing has to offer.
