Rapala Original Floating Minnow
The Rapala Original Floating Minnow is one of the most iconic fishing lures ever created. Handcrafted by Lauri Rapala in Finland in 1936, it revolutionized modern fishing by introducing the world's first lifelike swimming minnow. More than eight decades later, the Original Floating Minnow remains one of the most trusted hard baits for freshwater anglers targeting bass, trout, walleye, pike, and countless other gamefish.
Constructed from premium balsa wood, the Original Floating Minnow delivers a natural swimming action unmatched by synthetic lures. It floats at rest and dives with a gentle wobble during the retrieve, perfectly imitating an injured baitfish. Fish it with a steady retrieve, twitch-pause cadence, or troll it behind the boat—the lure's subtle action consistently triggers strikes from both active and pressured fish.
Each lure is hand-tuned and tank-tested to ensure it swims perfectly right out of the package. Finished with realistic baitfish patterns, durable finishes, and premium VMC® black nickel treble hooks, the Original Floating Minnow continues to set the standard for hard baits around the world.
Whether you're fishing rivers, lakes, reservoirs, ponds, or streams, the Rapala Original Floating Minnow remains a must-have lure for anglers of every skill level.
