Description

Plano Atlas Tackle Bag | Premium Fishing Tackle Storage System

The Plano Atlas Tackle Bag combines the protection of a hard-sided tackle box with the flexibility and portability of a premium soft-sided fishing bag.

Built with rugged molded EVA panels, a waterproof base, and Plano's patented magnetic Dropzone™ system, the Atlas provides a structured storage solution for anglers who want to protect their tackle and keep essential equipment within reach.

The bag includes three Plano 3750 StowAway utility boxes, along with dedicated storage for fishing tools, accessories, and personal items.

Whether you're organizing inshore lures for snook and redfish, carrying offshore terminal tackle, or preparing for a freshwater bass tournament, the Plano Atlas delivers the durability and organization serious anglers expect.

Structured EVA Construction for Better Tackle Protection

Unlike conventional soft-sided tackle bags that can collapse when partially loaded, the Plano Atlas uses molded EVA panels to maintain its structure.

This design helps protect tackle boxes and accessories from everyday bumps while making the main compartment easier to organize.

The structured construction is particularly useful for anglers carrying expensive hard baits, jigs, terminal tackle, and fishing tools.

It also makes loading and unloading utility boxes more convenient than with an unstructured bag.

Waterproof Molded Base

The Atlas features a waterproof molded base designed for wet fishing environments.

When placed on a damp boat deck, dock, or shoreline surface, the base provides a protective barrier between your tackle and the water beneath the bag.

This makes the Atlas a practical choice for saltwater anglers who frequently encounter wet decks and spray.

Important: The molded base is waterproof, but the complete bag is not a sealed waterproof container. Do not submerge it or rely on it to keep electronics dry in heavy rain.

Magnetic Dropzone™ Top

Plano's patented magnetic Dropzone™ system provides a convenient place to temporarily stage compatible metal tools and terminal tackle.

When changing lures, replacing hooks, or tying new rigs, the magnetic surface can help keep small metal components from rolling away.

This is especially useful when working on a boat where loose tackle can quickly disappear across the deck.

The Dropzone is intended for temporary access during rigging. Hooks, tools, and lures should be secured inside the bag before transportation.

Three Included 3750 StowAway Utility Boxes

The Atlas includes three Plano 3750 StowAway boxes, allowing anglers to organize their tackle by fishing technique, species, or lure category.

Rather than mixing everything together, you can build separate tackle systems and quickly select the box you need.

Inshore Fishing Organization

Box 1 — Artificial Lures

Topwater plugs, twitchbaits, jerkbaits, and other inshore hard baits.

Box 2 — Jigheads & Terminal Tackle

Hooks, jigheads, swivels, clips, weights, and rigging accessories.

Box 3 — Specialty Presentations

Additional lures, spare terminal tackle, and other frequently used equipment.

Offshore Fishing Organization

Use the included boxes to separate:

  • Snapper and grouper hooks

  • Swivels and terminal connections

  • Weights and rigging accessories

  • Smaller metal jigs

  • Assist hooks and replacement hardware

  • Other offshore tackle that fits the utility boxes

Freshwater Bass Fishing Organization

The three boxes are ideal for organizing:

  • Crankbaits and jerkbaits

  • Topwater lures

  • Spinnerbaits and terminal tackle

  • Hooks, weights, and jigheads

Soft plastics can be carried separately in their original packaging to help preserve bait condition.

Additional Storage for Tools & Accessories

The Plano Atlas offers more than utility box storage.

Molded Side Pockets

Provide convenient space for frequently used accessories.

Internal Zippered Pockets

Help keep smaller items separated and prevent them from becoming mixed with larger tackle.

Tool Holders

Keep essential fishing tools organized and accessible.

Water-Resistant Phone Pocket

Provides a designated storage location for your phone and helps protect it from incidental moisture.

For full waterproof protection, use a separate sealed phone case.

Comfortable Carrying System

The Atlas includes padded shoulder straps and a sternum strap designed to make transporting a fully loaded bag more comfortable.

This is useful when moving between the vehicle, dock, boat, or shoreline.

The carrying system helps distribute the weight of multiple tackle boxes and accessories.

For anglers who carry a significant amount of tackle, comfortable transportation is an important part of choosing the right storage system.

Designed for Inshore, Offshore & Freshwater Fishing

The Plano Atlas is versatile enough to support several fishing styles.

Inshore Saltwater Fishing: Organize artificial lures, jigheads, hooks, and leader accessories for snook, redfish, trout, and tarpon.

Offshore Fishing: Carry smaller metal jigs, bottom-fishing terminal tackle, swivels, hooks, and rigging accessories.

Freshwater Bass Fishing: Organize hard baits, terminal tackle, and accessories for lake and pond fishing.

Boat Fishing: Keep multiple tackle systems organized in one structured bag.

Shoreline and Pier Fishing: Transport tackle and accessories between fishing locations.

The Plano Atlas Tackle Bag is a strong choice for anglers who want premium storage that offers more protection and structure than a conventional soft tackle bag.

What stands out is the combination of molded EVA construction, waterproof base, and magnetic Dropzone top.

The three included 3750 StowAway boxes also make it easy to build a complete tackle organization system without purchasing separate utility boxes immediately.

Our recommendation: Choose the Atlas if you carry several tackle categories and want a structured, portable system for organizing them. It's particularly useful for anglers who switch between inshore, offshore, and freshwater fishing.

For a more traditional tackle bag, compare the Plano Guide Series Tackle Bag.
