Nomad DTX Minnow

The Nomad DTX Minnow is a purpose-built offshore trolling lure engineered to run deep, straight and stable at trolling speeds that can cause conventional diving minnows to lose control.

At the heart of the DTX is Nomad's patented Autotune™ System, a self-centering tow-point design that automatically keeps the lure properly aligned. Combined with its aggressive baitfish action and heavy-duty construction, the DTX has become a serious trolling option for wahoo, tuna, kingfish, mahi-mahi and other offshore predators.

Patented Autotune™ Technology

The defining feature of the DTX Minnow is Nomad's patented Autotune™ System.

The flexible tow point automatically centers itself as the lure moves through the water, helping the DTX maintain proper balance and track straight.

A diving minnow that constantly needs to be manually tuned wastes fishing time and can become unstable as trolling speed increases.

The DTX is designed to automatically find its centerline so it can continue swimming correctly while producing an aggressive baitfish action.

Deep-Diving Offshore Performance

The sinking DTX models are designed to get beneath the surface and put a swimming minnow presentation into deeper sections of the trolling spread.

Depending on the model, the current DTX family can reach approximately:

• 165 Sinking — 30 ft.

• 200 HD Sinking — 40 ft.

• 220 HD Sinking — 50 ft.

That gives offshore anglers a very different presentation from skirted trolling lures and surface-running plugs.

Instead of adding additional trolling weight to reach deeper fish, the lure itself is engineered to dive and maintain its swimming action.

Distressed Baitfish Action

The DTX isn't designed to simply travel straight behind the boat.

Its body profile and Autotune system produce an aggressive distressed baitfish swimming action intended to imitate a fleeing or struggling forage fish.

That combination of action, depth and speed makes it especially effective when targeting pelagic predators that are actively feeding on baitfish.

DTX Heavy Duty Models

The newest DTX HD models take the platform another step forward for anglers targeting powerful offshore species.

Nomad strengthened the HD construction with features including reinforced internal structures, thicker shell construction and upgraded heavy-duty BKK hardware.

The HD family is designed for the punishment associated with serious offshore trolling and repeated strikes from large pelagic fish.

DTX 180 HD — High-Speed Shallow Runner

The DTX 180 Heavy Duty Shallow Floating is different from the deep-diving DTX models.

Instead of diving 30, 40 or 50 feet, the 180 HD runs at approximately 10 feet and is designed to handle considerably higher trolling speeds.

It's an excellent option when you want the DTX swimming action higher in the spread or when specifically targeting fish such as wahoo at higher trolling speeds.

This model can be trolled at speeds up to approximately 18 knots.

DTX 200 HD — Deep Offshore Workhorse

The DTX 200 Heavy Duty Sinking measures 8 inches and is designed to reach approximately 40 feet.

It's rated for trolling from roughly 3–12 knots and comes equipped with heavy-duty BKK Diablo 5X single hooks.

This is a very versatile offshore size for:

For anglers looking for a substantial offshore profile with serious diving capability, the 200 HD is an excellent place to start.

DTX 220 HD — Maximum Depth & Profile

The DTX 220 Heavy Duty Sinking is the largest deep-diving model in the current lineup.

At 9 inches and approximately 7¾ oz., it is designed to reach around 50 feet while trolling.

The 220 HD comes equipped with large BKK Diablo 5X single hooks and is built for anglers targeting serious offshore fish.

Use it when you want maximum DTX profile and maximum diving depth.

DTX 165 — Versatile Deep-Diving Size

The DTX 165 Sinking is one of the most versatile sizes in the family.

At 6½ inches and approximately 3¼ oz., it dives to around 30 feet and can be trolled from approximately 3–12 knots.

The DTX Minnow is an especially strong option for wahoo trolling.

For a versatile deep-running setup, the 165 is a great starting point.

For larger tuna and wahoo presentations, we'd move toward the 200 HD or 220 HD, depending on how much profile and depth we want.

And the 180 HD is a completely different tool. Its shallow-running design and ability to handle much higher trolling speeds make it an excellent addition when targeting wahoo or building a spread with DTX lures running at multiple depths.
