Mustad Weighted KVD Grip-Pin Hook 1/4 oz

The Mustad Weighted KVD Grip-Pin Hook 1/4 oz combines an integrated belly weight, secure Grip-Pin® bait keeper and extra-wide bend for fishing swimbaits and other soft plastics deeper in the water column.

The 1/4 oz integrated weight provides additional depth while maintaining a streamlined, weedless presentation. It's an excellent choice for anglers fishing soft-plastic swimbaits around grass, vegetation, docks and submerged structure where a heavier weighted hook helps keep the bait down in the strike zone.

Integrated 1/4 oz Belly Weight

The built-in 1/4 oz belly weight allows the soft plastic to reach greater depths without adding a separate sinker.

Compared with the 1/8 oz version, the additional weight makes this model better suited for deeper water, faster retrieves or situations where you need to keep a swimbait down throughout the retrieve.

Grip-Pin® Bait Keeper

Mustad's molded Grip-Pin® keeper securely anchors the nose of the soft plastic to the hook.

This helps prevent the bait from sliding down the shank during repeated casts and retrieves while maintaining a clean soft-plastic presentation.

Extra-Wide Bend

The extra-wide bend provides the clearance needed when rigging larger or bulkier soft plastics.

When a fish strikes, the additional gap gives the plastic room to compress so the hook point can properly engage.

UltraPoint® Technology

Mustad's UltraPoint® technology and Opti-Angle needle point provide the sharp penetration needed for dependable hooksets.

The hook's forged construction adds strength for fishing around vegetation and cover.

Why Choose the 1/4 oz Weighted Grip-Pin?

The 1/4 oz version is the better choice when you need additional depth from a weedless soft-plastic presentation.

The integrated weight eliminates the need for a separate sinker, while the Grip-Pin keeps the plastic securely positioned. Combined with the extra-wide bend, it creates a clean setup for fishing swimbaits and other soft plastics through areas where an exposed hook would constantly collect vegetation.

Premier Tackle Take

The Mustad Weighted Grip-Pin 1/4 oz is an excellent choice for Florida bass anglers fishing swimbaits around deeper grass and vegetation.

Compared with the 1/8 oz version, we'd choose the 1/4 oz when we want the bait deeper or need more control over its running depth. It's particularly useful for slow-rolling a swimbait along deeper hydrilla edges or keeping a soft plastic down during a faster retrieve.

Having both weights makes sense: 1/8 oz for shallower and slower presentations; 1/4 oz when you need more depth and control.
