Mustad Grip-Pin Max Flippin’ & Worm Hook

The Mustad Grip-Pin Max Flippin’ & Worm Hook is a 2X strong soft-plastic hook designed for flipping, Texas rigging and weedless presentations around vegetation and hard cover.

A built-in resin-coated Grip-Pin® keeper securely anchors the front of the soft plastic, helping prevent worms, swimbaits and other plastics from sliding down the hook during repeated casts and presentations. Mustad combines that bait-retention system with a strong straight-shank design and extra-wide bend for excellent hooking and holding capacity.

Grip-Pin® Bait Keeper

The defining feature is Mustad’s Grip-Pin system.

The coated pin holds the nose of the soft plastic securely in place for a clean, weedless presentation. This is particularly useful when repeatedly flipping or pitching around grass and structure, where plastics can easily slide down conventional hooks.

It also helps preserve soft plastics by securing the bait without requiring a screw-lock style keeper.

2X Strong Construction

The standard Grip-Pin Max uses 2X Strong forged construction, giving it more strength for fishing around vegetation and cover without stepping all the way up to the heavier 3X Punching model.

That makes this a very versatile choice for everyday heavy-cover bass fishing.

Extra Wide Bend

The extra-wide bend provides clearance for soft plastics to collapse during the strike while creating plenty of hooking and holding capacity.

Mustad designed the hook for everything from traditional plastic worms to swimbaits and other soft-plastic presentations. It can be fished weightless, Texas-rigged or on a drop-shot setup.

UltraPoint® Technology

We especially like the Grip-Pin keeper when fishing around grass because it helps keep the plastic from constantly sliding down the shank. The 2X Strong construction also gives you additional confidence around vegetation and structure without automatically moving to an extremely heavy hook.

For normal flipping, Texas rigs and weedless soft plastics, we'd choose this 2X Grip-Pin Max. When you're punching truly thick mats with heavy braid and maximum pressure, that's when we'd step up to the Grip-Pin Max 3X Punching Hook.
