Mister Twister 2" Teenie Tail | Curly Tail Grub for Panfish & Bass

The Mister Twister 2" Teenie Tail is a classic soft plastic curly tail grub designed to deliver consistent swimming action in a compact, lightweight presentation.

Its thin, flexible curly tail creates movement as the bait travels through the water, making it an excellent choice for crappie, bluegill, perch, bass, and other freshwater species that feed on smaller baitfish and aquatic forage.

Whether you're casting along pond banks, jigging around docks, or fishing submerged structure, the Teenie Tail offers a simple, effective presentation that has made curly tail grubs a staple in freshwater tackle boxes for decades.

Classic Curly Tail Action

The defining feature of the Teenie Tail is its flexible curly tail, which produces swimming action with minimal forward movement.

This allows anglers to fish the lure at slower speeds while maintaining an attractive presentation.

The 2-inch body is particularly effective when fish are feeding on smaller forage or when a larger soft plastic produces fewer strikes.

Versatile Jighead Presentation

The Teenie Tail is most commonly rigged on a lightweight jighead.

Its compact profile works well with small jigheads, allowing anglers to fish shallow water, suspended fish, or deeper structure by adjusting jig weight.

Common presentations include:

• Slow Swimming: Retrieve steadily through open water or alongside weed edges.

• Lift and Drop: Raise the rod tip and allow the grub to fall naturally.

• Vertical Jigging: Fish around docks, bridges, brush piles, and submerged structure.

• Bottom Hopping: Work the grub along the bottom for bass, perch, and other feeding fish.

• Under a Float: Suspend the grub at the desired depth and use subtle movement to trigger strikes.

For additional movement and flash, anglers can pair a compatible jighead with the Mister Twister Jig Spinner.

Ideal for Panfish & Light-Tackle Fishing

The compact 2-inch profile makes the Teenie Tail an excellent choice for smaller freshwater predators.

Crappie: Swim or vertically jig around brush piles, docks, and submerged cover.

Bluegill: Fish slowly around vegetation, shorelines, and shallow structure.

Perch: Work the grub near the bottom or around schools of baitfish.

Largemouth Bass: Use it when bass are feeding on small baitfish or when a finesse presentation is needed.

Other Species: The Teenie Tail can also attract trout and other light-tackle freshwater species.

Choosing the Right Jighead

For most freshwater applications, start with a lightweight jighead that allows the lure to swim naturally.

• 1/32 oz: Shallow water, slow presentations, and fishing beneath a float.

• 1/16 oz: Excellent all-around choice for crappie, panfish, and light bass fishing.

• 1/8 oz: Deeper water, windier conditions, and faster retrieves.

Choose a hook size that fits the 2-inch body without extending excessively into the curly tail.

Premier Tackle Take

The Mister Twister 2" Teenie Tail is one of those simple soft plastics that continues to catch fish because its design works.

For Florida freshwater fishing, we particularly like it for crappie and bluegill around docks, submerged vegetation, and brush piles. It is also an excellent choice when bass are feeding on smaller forage.

Our recommendation: Start with a 1/16 oz jighead for general fishing. Move lighter when fish are shallow or less aggressive, and heavier when additional depth or casting distance is needed.
