Lee Fisher Joy Fish Foldable Landing Net
The Lee Fisher Joy Fish Foldable Landing Net combines a folding hoop, telescoping handle and floating design in a compact net that's easy to keep aboard a boat, kayak or in your fishing gear.
The folding design significantly reduces the amount of storage space the net requires, while the telescoping handle gives anglers additional reach when it's time to land a fish. Lee Fisher currently offers two sizes of its Joy Fish Floating Foldable Landing Net.
Folding Design for Easy Storage
Landing nets can take up valuable space, particularly on smaller boats and kayaks.
The Joy Fish Foldable Net allows the hoop to fold down when it's not being used, making it easier to store in:
- Boat compartments
- Kayaks
- Trucks
- Tackle storage areas
- Garages
When it's time to fish, unfold the hoop and extend the handle as needed.
Telescoping Handle
The adjustable handle lets you keep the net compact during storage while providing additional reach when landing a fish.
Lee Fisher lists two current configurations:
| Size | Hoop | Net Depth | Telescoping Handle |
|---|---|---|---|
| JF-31FL-Float | 12" x 16" | 12" | 14"–22" |
| JF-32FL-Float | 16" x 20" | 20" | 19"–31" |
Floating Landing Net
Both models are listed by Lee Fisher as Floating Foldable Landing Nets, adding another useful feature around boats and kayaks.
If the net accidentally goes overboard while you're landing or releasing a fish, the floating design makes recovery easier than with a conventional net that can immediately sink out of reach.
Choosing the Right Size
12" x 16" — JF-31FL-Float
The more compact choice. Its 12-inch-deep net and 14–22-inch telescoping handle make it well suited to smaller fish, freshwater fishing, kayaks and situations where storage space is limited.
16" x 20" — JF-32FL-Float
The better choice when you want additional capacity. It increases net depth to 20 inches and provides a 19–31-inch telescoping handle, making it the more versatile option for larger freshwater and inshore fish.
Features
- Foldable landing-net design
- Telescoping handle
- Floating construction
- Compact for storage and transportation
- Two hoop sizes available
- Up to 31" telescoping handle
- Up to 20" net depth
- Suitable for freshwater and inshore fishing
Best For

- General Boat Fishing
- Anglers with Limited Storage Space
Why Choose a Foldable Landing Net?
The biggest reason is storage.
A conventional landing net can be awkward to store because the hoop is always taking up space. A folding hoop and telescoping handle allow this Joy Fish net to take up considerably less room when it's not being used.
That's particularly valuable on kayaks, skiffs and smaller boats, where every bit of deck and storage space matters.
Premier Tackle Take
The Joy Fish Foldable Landing Net is a practical choice when you want a real landing net without dedicating a lot of space to storing one.
For kayak fishing or smaller freshwater fish, the 12" x 16" is a nice compact option. For general Florida inshore use, we'd choose the 16" x 20" because the larger hoop, deeper bag and longer telescoping handle give you more versatility.
The combination of folding, telescoping and floating is what makes this net stand out.
