The Jr. Ilander is one of those offshore lures that has stood the test of time because it simply catches fish. At Premier Tackle, we especially like it when fish are keyed in on smaller baitfish or the water is calm and a full-size lure produces too much commotion.

Our favorite way to fish the Jr. Ilander is rigged over a medium ballyhoo and run from an outrigger or flat line. The bullet head keeps the lure tracking perfectly while the skirt adds just the right amount of flash and action without overpowering the natural bait.

We've also found it to be an outstanding choice for Gulf Coast mahi, blackfin tuna, kingfish, and sailfish, especially around weed lines, color changes, and floating debris. When the bite gets tough, downsizing to the Jr. Ilander is often the adjustment that turns lookers into biters.
