The Fulling Mill Peterson's Spawning Shrimp S4 is a highly effective shrimp imitation designed to replicate one of the most important forage sources found throughout Florida's inshore waters. Originally developed by renowned guide and fly designer Drew Chicone, this proven pattern imitates a spawning shrimp carrying an egg mass, creating an irresistible target for redfish, snook, speckled trout, and other shallow-water predators.
Featuring a realistic shrimp profile, subtle movement, and highly visible spawning egg hotspot, the Peterson's Spawning Shrimp excels when fish are actively feeding on crustaceans across grass flats, sand potholes, oyster bars, and mangrove shorelines. The fly lands softly, fishes naturally, and remains effective in both clear and slightly stained water conditions.
Designed for sight fishing applications, the Peterson's Spawning Shrimp is especially productive when targeting tailing redfish, cruising snook, and shallow-water trout. Its natural appearance and proven fish-catching profile make it a staple pattern for Gulf Coast fly anglers.
Whether you're stalking redfish across Sarasota Bay flats, targeting snook along mangrove edges, or exploring shallow backcountry waters, the Fulling Mill Peterson's Spawning Shrimp S4 is a must-have fly for your saltwater fly box.
