Fitzgerald All Purpose Composite Series Casting Rod
The Fitzgerald All Purpose Composite Series Casting Rod is purpose-built for anglers who fish moving baits and want the casting characteristics and forgiveness of glass combined with the power and responsiveness of carbon fiber.
At the heart of the series is Fitzgerald's proprietary Carbon Fiber and S-Glass Hybrid Blank. The S-Glass tip allows the rod to load smoothly during the cast and flex when a fish initially takes the bait, while the carbon fiber section provides the backbone and fish-fighting power needed once the rod loads deeper.
For crankbaits, chatterbaits, spinnerbaits and other reaction-style presentations, it's a design that gives anglers the benefits of both materials in one rod.
Carbon Fiber & S-Glass Hybrid Blank
The defining feature of the All Purpose Composite Series is Fitzgerald's proprietary hybrid blank construction.
Rather than building the entire rod from graphite or glass, Fitzgerald combines the two materials to take advantage of their different characteristics.
The S-Glass tip provides a smoother, more forgiving loading action, while the carbon fiber section delivers the strength and backbone needed to control fish.
S-Glass Tip for Moving Baits
Moving-bait fishing requires a different rod action than techniques where an immediate, powerful hookset is the priority.
The S-Glass tip allows the rod to flex during the initial strike, helping give the fish an opportunity to fully take the bait before the rod loads.
That more forgiving action can also help keep fish pinned during the fight, particularly when fishing moving baits equipped with treble hooks.
Carbon Fiber Backbone
Once the rod loads beyond the S-Glass section, the carbon fiber portion of the blank takes over.
This provides the power needed to drive hooks, control quality bass and keep pressure on the fish throughout the fight.
The result is a rod that feels forgiving where you want it while maintaining plenty of power where you need it.
Smooth, Long Casting Performance
The S-Glass portion of the blank also allows the rod to load progressively during the cast, helping launch moving baits smoothly and efficiently.
That's particularly useful when covering large areas of water with crankbaits, chatterbaits and other reaction baits where anglers may make hundreds of casts throughout the day.
Premium Components
Fitzgerald finishes the All Purpose Composite Series with quality components designed to complement the hybrid blank.
The rods feature American Tackle Ti-Forged guides, premium AAAA cork grips and carbon-fiber-reinforced reel seats.
The result is a casting rod designed for serious use without losing the feel and finish expected from a premium Fitzgerald rod.

Why Choose the Fitzgerald All Purpose Composite Series?
The biggest advantage is the combination of S-Glass forgiveness and carbon fiber power.
The S-Glass portion allows the rod to load smoothly when casting and flex when a fish strikes, while the carbon fiber section provides the backbone needed once the fish is hooked.
That makes the All Purpose Composite an excellent option for anglers who don't want an overly stiff graphite rod for moving baits but also don't want the heavier, slower feel traditionally associated with an all-glass rod.
You get the characteristics of both materials in one purpose-built blank.
Premier Tackle Take
The Fitzgerald All Purpose Composite Series is the rod we'd look at specifically for anglers who throw a lot of moving baits.
The hybrid construction makes sense. You want enough forgiveness for a fish to take a crankbait or chatterbait without immediately pulling it away, but once that rod loads, you still want the backbone to control the fish.
For Florida bass fishing, we particularly like this concept for chatterbaits, lipless crankbaits, spinnerbaits and other reaction baits around grass and open water.
Instead of trying to make a conventional graphite rod behave like a moving-bait rod, Fitzgerald designed the blank around the application from the beginning.
