Built for serious offshore anglers who demand the absolute pinnacle of jigging reel performance, the Daiwa Saltiga Jigging Star Drag 15 Conventional Reel represents one of the most refined and technologically advanced offshore jigging reels ever created.
Purpose-built for modern offshore jigging applications, the Saltiga 15 combines lightweight finesse with tremendous cranking power, giving anglers exceptional jig control, smoothness, and fish-fighting capability when targeting powerful Gulf Coast offshore species.
At the heart of the reel is Daiwa’s revolutionary full HYPERDRIVE Design system — an advanced engineering platform designed to maximize strength, smoothness, rigidity, and long-term durability under extreme offshore fishing pressure.
The HYPERDRIVE DIGIGEAR system features high-strength brass gearing engineered to maintain constant 3-point gear contact for incredibly smooth rotation and enhanced long-term gear durability. Hyper Double-Support bearings maintain rock-solid pinion alignment to eliminate gear tilt while improving rotational smoothness under load. The Hyper Armed Housing dramatically increases frame rigidity, while the Hyper Tough Clutch ensures precise and dependable spool engagement during aggressive offshore fishing situations.
A Magsealed ball bearing positioned along the pinion shaft helps protect the reel from saltwater intrusion and corrosion while maintaining long-term smoothness. Seven additional corrosion-resistant bearings further enhance reel support and performance throughout the drivetrain.
The Saltiga 15 also features Daiwa’s waterproof ATD drag system, providing powerful hook-setting capability while maintaining smooth drag pressure during hard offshore runs. A drag clicking system enhances the offshore fighting experience, while the integrated spool lock mechanism allows anglers to safely break free from deep snags when fishing heavy braided line and leader systems.
Finished with a custom 85mm “T” shape power handle for superior grip and jigging comfort, the Saltiga 15 delivers elite-level offshore performance for serious jigging anglers.
Whether you’re slow pitch jigging deep Gulf structure, vertical jigging wrecks for amberjack, or working offshore reefs for snapper and tuna, the Daiwa Saltiga 15 Jigging Reel delivers uncompromising offshore performance without compromise.
