Benchmade 9" Fishcrafter Fillet Knife

The Benchmade 9" Fishcrafter is a premium fillet knife purpose-built for anglers processing medium to large fish. Its extended 9-inch blade provides the reach needed for long, smooth cuts through larger fillets while maintaining the control and precision expected from Benchmade.

At the heart of the Fishcrafter is a flexible CPM-MagnaCut stainless steel blade, hardened by Benchmade to 60–62 HRC. MagnaCut combines exceptional corrosion resistance with edge retention and toughness, making it particularly well suited for demanding saltwater environments.

Benchmade's SelectEdge® technology delivers an extremely sharp cutting edge designed for smooth filleting and controlled push cuts. The trailing-point blade geometry helps follow bones and contours while the longer 9-inch profile makes efficient single-pass cuts possible on larger fish.

A textured Santoprene® handle provides a secure grip when hands are wet or slick, while the finger guard and jimping add control during harder cuts. The included molded sheath protects the blade between uses and incorporates drainage for marine environments.

Best For

The 9" Fishcrafter is the largest of Benchmade's Fishcrafter lineup and is designed specifically for medium to large fish. Benchmade recommends it for species such as salmon and striped bass as well as larger saltwater species.

For Florida anglers, it's an especially good fit for processing larger grouper, snapper, amberjack and pelagic species. Benchmade's Florida guide feature specifically notes the 9" Fishcrafter being used for these applications.

Why the 9" Fishcrafter?

The advantage of the 9-inch blade becomes apparent when processing bigger fish. Rather than making multiple short sawing cuts, its additional length allows an angler to make longer, cleaner passes through substantial fillets.
