Avet HX 5/2 Raptor MC Two Speed Lever Drag Reel
The Avet HX 5/2 Raptor MC Two Speed Lever Drag Reel is built for anglers who demand exceptional power, durability, and versatility when targeting hard-fighting offshore gamefish. Combining Avet's proven Raptor Dual Drag System, smooth two-speed gearing, and Magic Cast (MC) adjustable cast control, this reel is designed to excel in everything from deep-water bottom fishing to live baiting, trolling, jigging, and kite fishing.
Proudly precision machined in the USA from marine-grade aluminum, the HX 5/2 Raptor MC is engineered to handle the abuse of saltwater fishing while delivering the smooth, dependable performance serious offshore anglers expect. Its rigid one-piece frame, stainless steel components, and corrosion-resistant construction provide lasting reliability whether fishing local Gulf reefs or chasing pelagic species offshore.
At the heart of the reel is Avet's exclusive Raptor Dual Drag System, which applies drag pressure from both sides of the spool to produce tremendous stopping power while maintaining an exceptionally smooth drag curve. This innovative design minimizes spool flex under heavy loads, allowing anglers to fish higher drag settings with complete confidence when battling powerful fish around wrecks, reefs, and offshore structure.
The two-speed transmission provides outstanding versatility. High gear quickly picks up slack line and efficiently retrieves jigs or trolling spreads, while low gear delivers the cranking power needed to turn stubborn grouper, powerful amberjack, or large tuna from deep water. A quick shift between gears gives anglers the mechanical advantage needed throughout every stage of the fight.
For anglers who regularly cast live bait, the integrated Magic Cast (MC) System offers externally adjustable spool control to reduce overruns and improve casting performance. Whether free-lining pilchards, threadfin herring, pinfish, or mullet, the MC system allows precise spool adjustment for changing bait sizes and fishing conditions.
The HX 5/2 Raptor MC is equally at home dropping heavy rigs to deep reefs, slow trolling live baits along weed lines, working vertical jigs over wrecks, or pulling offshore trolling spreads. Its excellent balance of line capacity, drag power, and compact ergonomics makes it one of the most versatile reels in the Avet lineup.
Florida Gulf Coast anglers appreciate the HX 5/2 Raptor MC for its ability to handle a wide variety of offshore species, including grouper, snapper, amberjack, kingfish, cobia, blackfin tuna, yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi, wahoo, sailfish, and swordfish. It also serves as an outstanding reel for deep dropping and heavy bottom fishing where high drag pressure and dependable performance are essential.
Whether you're fishing the Gulf of Mexico, the Atlantic coast, or traveling to remote offshore destinations, the Avet HX 5/2 Raptor MC Two Speed Lever Drag Reel delivers the strength, precision, and reliability needed to confidently battle the ocean's toughest fish.
